Below we explain the most frequent error responses that you may encounter when querying AEAT data for Via Oberta:

Owner not identified in the answer to the Income Certificate

When consulting the data of the 2020 income certificate, a high response of the result "unidentified holder" was detected, which led us to contrast this situation with the AEAT.
The tax administration has confirmed to us that the response "Titre d'unidentified" occurs for two different reasons:

  1. Lack of correspondence between the DNI and NIE data with the names and surnames of the holder consulted (the most frequent cause): To validate the identification of the holder and return their tax data, the AEAT has established a filter or “Required similarity threshold” that validates the correspondence between the DNI and NIE data + names and surnames consulted, and those contained in its database, which may lead to the following situations:
    • This threshold must be exceeded, as there is no discrepancy between the data entered, or it must be so minor (small differences or typographical errors, etc.) that it can still be exceeded, producing correct identification of the holder and the return of their tax data.
    • This threshold must not be exceeded due to the existence of a discrepancy between the data entered, which implies a lack of validation of the identification of the holder consulted and the return of the message “Holder not identified”.
    • It has been verified that this required threshold is much stricter in the case of NIEs.
  2. The consulted holders are not included in the AEAT census : The second casuistry that this result of "Holder not identified" can lead to is that the consulted person does not appear in the AEAT census. The most significant cases are those of people who have recently completed their documentation (DNI and NIE) and have not yet been incorporated into the AEAT census.

How to reduce this casuistry?

  • In the first case, “incongruent data or data that does not exceed the required similarity threshold”:
    • Taking into account that for the AEAT the correct data is the one that appears exactly on the DNI / NIE, check that the NIF or NIE and the name and surname of the holder to be consulted have been correctly entered in the query:
      • the data contained in your identification document, or
      • if the owner has authorization, through a consultation with the General Directorate of Police (DGP).
    • If the discrepancy between the data entered and the results of the check is confirmed, it will be necessary to make a subsequent consultation of the income certificate with the correct data, derived from the validation of your DNI/NIE or consultation with the DGP.
  • In the second case, “not appearing in the tribal census” :
    • The AEAT informs us that AEAT census update processes are regularly carried out, with automatic registrations based on the information provided by the Ministry of the Interior, for the incorporation of holders of new identity documents issued by the DGP, or for updating the census every time they receive a presentation of a declaration or a query about a DNI / NIE not included in the census, after comparison with the DGP.
    • For this reason, it is recommended that if you receive a response of "Not Identified" and you are certain that the identification data is correct, you repeat the query after a reasonable amount of time to see if the census has been updated.
Error in communication with the final sender

This error can occur for a number of reasons. Here are the most common ones:

  • The Mid-Level Electronic Seal digital certificate uploaded to our system and authorized by your queries has ceased to be valid (It is most likely that it has expired, but it may also have been revoked). In this case, you will need to request a Mid-Level Electronic Seal and manage its renewal as follows: How to renew an Electronic Seal certificate to use the AEAT services of Via Oberta?
  • The service provider does not allow the consultation of data if it coincides with that of the user making the consultation. In this regard, check that you are not consulting your own data.
  • If your case is not one of those described, contact us through the contact form . You must inform us of the entity and the Via Oberta user making the query, the date and time you obtain the error and a screenshot of the error whenever possible.
Incorrect document

Due to a very strict application of the identification algorithms of all the AEAT's electronic processing applications and services, it is possible that depending on how your name and surname are written in EACAT you may receive the error "Incorrect document" when making queries on the AEAT's services:

To resolve this error, do the following:

  • If you use the service through the EACAT screens : Access your EACAT space (section “Configuration”) and modify your first and last name so that they appear as follows:
    • the name and surnames match exactly those indicated on the identification document (DNI, NIE...).
    • If, however, it does not work, indicate the order of the first and last names in this way: Last name1 Last name2 First name

  • In case the IRPF consultation service is accessed from the entity's own management applications (through integration with Via Oberta), the application administrator must ensure that the database from which the names of the civil servants are extracted contains information as indicated in the previous section and that the “ NombreCompletoFuncionario ” field of the messaging is sent correctly.

<pet:Funcionario><pet:NombreCompletoFuncionario>Español Español Juan</pet:NombreComletoFuncionario><pet:NifFuncionario>99999999Z</pet:NifFuncionario></pet:Funcionario>

If, after making this modification and testing access, the error persists, please indicate this through the contact form .

confirming that you have already made these modifications.
