If your entity's digital certificate for using the Via Oberta AEAT service is about to expire:

  • STEP 1. You must request the renewal by following the steps in the following FAQ: How to request an Electronic Seal from AOC? You must request the seal indicating “Ceded exclusively for use of AOC services” in the “use of the certificate” section of the request.
  • STEP 2. Once we have downloaded the certificate from AOC, you must download the form called “ Electronic certificate replacement form (web services)” from the Tax Agency website . This form, together with the public key of the certificate (which must be in encoded X509 format - .cer or .crt extension and compressed in a .zip file), must be sent to the AEAT through its Electronic Office using one of the following forms depending on whether the information required is for tax or non-tax purposes :

In both cases, the option you must choose on the form is Submission of authorization forms for standardized supplies.

Since you need the certificate serial number and download the public key, your organization's certification service manager must access the certification portal, specifically the subscriber folder . The steps to follow can be found in the FAQ “Subscriber folder: how to download the public key of a certificate? .

  • STEP 3. Once done, the AEAT will respond to you via email indicating whether the use of the new certificate has been authorized. You will then need to respond to the notification email we sent you to inform you of the steps to follow to renew the AEAT seal, or open a support request attaching the following:
      • The confirmation email from the AEAT authorizing the new certificate (in PDF format)
      • The certificate replacement form that you sent to the AEAT.

Note: If you initially use a CEIXSA type certificate and have another of this type for renewal, you must take into account that this type of certificate can no longer be requested and that it is not accepted for this purpose of use.
