The SARA Network (Systems of Applications and Networks for Administrations) is a set of basic communications and services infrastructures that connects the networks of Public Administrations facilitating the exchange of information and access to services. In Catalonia, access to the SARA Network is provided by the AOC.

From the AOC we will provide you with the secure tunnel to connect, but in order to access any service exposed to SARA Network, you will also need the URL to access these services as well as username and password. This information will be provided to you by each body responsible for each service.

The connection to the SARA network is currently no longer made through EACAT -Via Oberta - SARA Network Access, but is made through the URL https://vpnweb.aoc.cat or through a client VPN.

In order to request the most appropriate mechanism, please check the compatibility of your Operating System:

Operating system Compatible access mechanism
Windows 7 Through the URL https://vpnweb.aoc.cat
Windows 10 Through the creation of a VPN client
Windows Server 2012 Through the URL https://vpnweb.aoc.cat
Windows Server 2016 Through the URL https://vpnweb.aoc.cat
Windows Server 2019 Through the creation of a VPN client

Once you have identified the supported access mechanism, to manage the connection, follow these steps:

1. Through the URL https://vpnweb.aoc.cat

Note: This option is only compatible with Windows 7 and Server 2012/2016 operating systems ( not compatible with Windows 10 ).

To manage the connection, you must contact us via the support contact form indicating that the following prerequisites are met and the data requested for access to the SARA Network:

  • The entity's EACAT user manager must authorize access to users by assigning permissions to the " SARA Network Connectivity " service.
  • The email address and NIF of all users who must use it.
  • Name of the entity .
  • Operating system .

Once managed, we will provide you with credentials to connect through this portal https://vpnweb.aoc.cat

  • The user will always contain the nomenclature of your email address before the domain. For example for the email nomcognom@aoc.cat the user will be nomcognom
  • The password will be your capitalized NIF. For example for NIF 12345678A the password will be 12345678A

Once logged in, open a new browser window used and access the service within the SARA network.

2. Through the creation of a VPN client

Note: This option is only compatible with Windows 10 and Windows Server 2019 operating systems.

  • Number of users who need to access the SARA network.
  • Operating system .

Once managed, we will provide you with one or more executables that will allow you to connect to the SARA network by installing and running them with administrator permissions.

Once logged in vpn client, open a browser window and access the service within the SARA network.

Some new service, with a new URL, may not be properly configured for access.

In this case, the access request must be sent using the contact form indicating the URL to be accessed and the private IP address corresponding to the service within the SARA network, whenever possible.

Once the request has been received with all the necessary data, the AOC Consortium undertakes to make it accessible within a maximum period of fifteen days.
